Google is committed to moving into the messaging space. For those of you that did not see the launch of Google "wave" - you should check it out. SMS is not the right bearer for Google for now, but getting Operators familiar with Google as a product vendor and content delivery agent will lay the groundwork for the wave.

I would like to comment upon this new launch of Google SMS Suite. Its certainly inline with the Google's mission to provide the information easily to the users. At present undoubtedly we have very large penetration of mobile users compared to internet users. But at the same time, comes the ease of using Google SMS - a bunch of codes put together - which though can prove very beneficial for particular segment of users who are adept at smsing.

Services launched are truly required but would certainly give Google an edge if Google comes up with a voice version of the same and I hope that Google must be working over this!

But in all with this launch I give a thumbs up! to Google SMS Suite!

It is interesting how many telecom services Google has been rolling out recently. I think the obvious reason is they would like to handle all forms of user communications (email, chat, docs, SMS, and now voice, if not others out there), and aggregate this data for the inherent revenue benefit. This said, as long as companies continue to support Google's break-through offerings (see: A call center that supports google voice-- http://www.on-state.com/google-voice-call-center.... ), the success of each market entry will be bolstered, and will continue.
