Chirp marks a transition for Twitter . Now its not everyone's fave web service anymore . its a business which come with its own agenda and own baggage . Their underlying platform is just an enabler .Money is to be made in applications but to do that they will have to complete with their own developer base and at times cannibalize their business .

TweetUp the Twitter advertisement platform by Bill Gross of IDEA Lab was launched couple of days ahead of chirp . i think it was worst timing of launch both of Bill as well as twitter. it has highlighted the inherent risk of making creating a business 100% dependent on someone else's business. Facebook is having F8, its annual developer conference. This shows the kind of dog fight going on for developer attention. mistake like Bill Gross can prove fatal to Twitter .coming months will be interesting .
